Naiviv Martinez Sosa, HTL (ASCP) | Histotechnologist | University of Miami Health Systems

Bolstered by her passion for education and accumulating qualifications in her field, Naiviv Martinez Sosa has excelled in health care for nearly 20 years, serving as a histotechnologist at UHealth Tower, a hospital and clinics facility within the University of Miami Health System, since 2020. In her role, she serves as a specialized medical lab professional, preparing tissue slides for pathologists, performing tests, conducting research, and diagnosing and treating diseases through microscopic technology, delivering results to the doctors, and maintaining quality control standards in the laboratory. Earning her histotechnologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Patchology in 2019, she was previously active with IO LabCorp in Phoenix, Arizona from 2016 to 2020, and found success with Arnaldo Milian Castro Hospital in Cuba and Cytology and Histology Technology between 2004 and 2015.

Ms. Martinez Sosa has accrued coursework in continuing education and attained a Bachelor of Science in cytology and histology from the Medical University of Villa Clara in Cuba in 2009. Born, raised, and establishing her professional path in Cuba, she immigrated to the United States in 2015. She considers gaining health care work experience in numerous places, from Cuba to Arizona to Florida, to be her most notable accomplishment. She has also been proud of her contribution as a professional in helping patients receive correct diagnoses and care, especially when her work involved internal oncology. As a testament to her dedication, she was recognized as Employee of the Month while at IO LabCorp.

Over the years, Ms. Martinez Sosa has maintained her connections to her industry as a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, College of American Pathologists, National Society for Histotechnology, and QIC. Looking ahead toward the future, she would like to grow her career while continuing to make a difference In the lives of patients through her role in diagnosing and treating diseases.
